This congress, along with other high-profile conferences, trade shows and events, help create the outstanding reputation of the Milchwerk Conference and Cultural Centre. Together with the conference offers in the Radolfzell Innovation and Technology Centre, it is an important factor in favour of this economic location. The city has been a trading centre for the region since 1100 and today boasts a healthy mix of industries and is committed to the promotion of trade and industry. A new centre is being developed on the former Schiesser AG site in the direct line of sight to the city centre.
There is a comprehensive infrastructure of schools with numerous vocational schools, institutions of continuing education and a language centre for specialists and managers from outside Germany. The musicians and orchestra supported by the Städtische Musikschule have won international awards and are thus testimony to the outstanding quality of this cultural establishment.
Other musical offers, such as open-air concerts by the lake or the “Summer Academy” with master classes for young musicians from all over the world, are also of the highest standard. A highlight of the city’s diverse artistic life is the picturesque “See(h)straßengalerie”, Germany’s first open-air gallery that hangs large-scale works of art along the street. The new museum contains exhibits detailing the history of the city and also houses a historical pharmacy and a unique Spitzweg collection.
